” Smacked “
by Suzán Jiván
Mom & Mom-
Mom Suzán
Smacked around
lip-smacking “good”
strained toothy grins
percussive jaw clicks
hard-won knock-knocks
lunkheaded movie lather
manning mixing boards
for rappers honoring
individuality marking
calendars monitoring
clock tick-tocking
no-nonsense responses to squalor
paying close attention to drama
as squandered promises and heart-
broken hardships within marginal
limits of politics understandably
“ in shock “ post botched special-ops
whizzing shots gone off-target
while critter-like critics find vision
in hand-rung non-fiction quizzing,
“ Can You Top This? “ favoring
tumultuous futuristical views
as seen through the vitreous humor
of anthropomorphic figures
loosely produced moody
phantasmagorical gloom dutibly
coming into effusive bloom...
